You Better Get Started

The moment has come – Rat & Dragon proudly present the final narrative film of the 2019/2020 Intro Travel project: A short tale of the magic passed between strangers that gives you the kick up the butt to do that thing you’ve wanted to do for ages.

“We came up with the core concept of Start whilst sitting upside down on a sofa whilst on production in a tiny beach shack in Australia,” explains producer Nicola. “True story! Out of this one idea developed an epic tale of discovery, meaning and friendship, with the core message of the magic that happens when a message is passed on.”

Created for Intro Travel the Short will be released later this year, much to the delight of all crew and collaborators who just can’t wait for it to get started.

How to Not Fall Off a Vespa

Following the success of last year’s 10 Year Love Story at the Italian Film Festival, the Rat & Dragon’s favourite Italians have commissioned the team to create a brand new company film for That’s Amore Cheese.

“That’s Amore are quite a left field client for us, wedged in between epic travel content and hard hitting documentary and fiction,” explains director Saxon, “but every time they get in touch we simply can’t say no. Maybe it’s all the fresh, delicious artisanal cheese they bribe us with. Literally”.

The Rat & Dragon team followed owner and marketing genius Giorgio riding his vintage (and in true style constantly stalling) Vespa around their neighbourhood of Thomastown, Melbourne, all whilst juggling countless won awards and all the friendly faces that make their delicious produce a reality.

You Didn’t Expect That Now, Did You?

Interactive Hopscotch and Pixel People

If you walk through Bourke Street Mall in the Heart of Melbourne’s CBD you may find masses enthralled by mysterious hopscotch and dancing feet that have suddenly appeared on Melbourne’s main shopping thoroughfare.

In a collaboration with Myer and Clemenger BBDO, the Code on Canvas team have created an interactive experience in which multicoloured pixels mimic movements and inspire passers by to pause and play, all to create the feeling of feeling good.

Rat & Dragon captured the magic in the middle of this year’s White Night hustle and bustle, which was an added bonus to the already art filled night air.

Eyejack Treasure Hunt through Flinders Quarter

In collaboration with Metro Tunnel and Flinders Quarter collective, Eyejack last year launched an augmented art walk throughout the historic inner city block to inspire both locals and visitors to explore more.

“The Flinders Quarter Precinct is being uniquely affected by the expansion of the underground metropolitan rail links throughout inner city Melbourne” explains project manager Fides, “so we want to demonstrate that the small businesses, cafes, restaurants and bars the area is famous for are very much open for business.”

The Rat & Dragon team were tasked with creating the hero film to promote the project to Melbournians and visitors alike. Maps are available for the art walk treasure hunt from Metro Tunnel HQ and Melbourne Visitors Centres.
