Future Dreaming selected for Melbourne International

“We’re so busy this year we can’t even keep up!” exclaims director Saxon “the film festival invitations are coming hard and fast.” A couple of months ago Future Dreaming continued its festival success by being officially included in this year’s lineup of the Melbourne International Film Festival.

“It’s great to be on home turf, but you know it won’t last long”, Rat & Dragon producer Nicola shares, “we’ve been all over the place this year and it’s just looking to continue that way. We’re loving it!”

Jetting around the planet for a party!

“When Intro Travel‘s head of Asian ops Alan calls on a Wednesday night to invite you to a party that Saturday on the other side of the planet, you buy a ticket and say yes,” producer Nicola shares enthusiastically.

This exact scenario was the one the Rat & Dragon team found themselves in this September, already having visited and filmed in 4 continents this year alone. What would another trip around the planet matter to the already depleted sleep tally – piece of cake, that’s what!

Intro Travel’s first ever Social set against the backdrop of gorgeous London summer skies and the prestigious Fulham Beach Club was well worth the effort. Alan, give us a call any time in future!

SUTU and RaD at Munich International Film Festival

Internationally renowned artist Sutu and the Rat & Dragon team attended Munich International Film Festival last month to represent Australian film makers and VR project Future Dreaming.

“It’s fantastic to see so many innovative pieces under one roof,” explains Munich Film Festival’s VR curator Astrid, “we’re really seeing people pushing the boundaries of what is possible as VR comes into its own.”

A definite highlight for the Rat & Dragon team was catching up in person with director Joanna Bielinski as well as goofing around on stage after Bong Joon-Ho‘s retrospective podium talk. His work, especially ‘Parasite’ premiering at the festival, is alright too, we guess.

Munich International selects Future Dreaming

One of Europe’s biggest hitters has officially selected Future Dreaming for its Virtual Reality program. The Munich International Film Festival’s Virtual Worlds program will feature a Felix and Paul retrospective as well as over 40 VR and 360 Film pieces from around the globe.

“This years competition is tough as VR storytelling is really getting into its own,” explains Munich Film Festival curator and head of VR Astrid Kahmke. “We’re excited to be leading the way in the recognition of this incredible art form.”
